With the penalty point system East London were forced to give away 15 points  for the use of regular 1st  team riders . It would a difficult task for East London with this  deficit to pull back but this seemed to spur the Londoners on.  Things started well with race wins and 2  7-3ís and a 6-4 they  built up a small lead 44-36 at the interval. East London kept up the pressure in the 2nd half to win the match by 8 points only to lose overall by 7. A good all round performance in difficult conditions as the weather started to turn, racing into a very strong head wind sapping riders strength.
